Following the imposition of fines and suspended points deductions by the National League, we have this week submitted a written appeal to the FA and also written directly to the National League to express our views and call for a re-think. Earlier this week Brian Barwick announced that he will be standing down as Chairman of the National League at the end of the 2020/21 season, and the League’s board met yesterday against a backdrop of a possible vote of no confidence.

The Club Board has established that we need to find approximately £25,000 to cover unbudgeted expenses including League fines, structural safety works, electrical upgrades and substantial pitch drainage works. We are appealing the fines and have applied for grants for the pitch, but in the meantime have to meet these obligations regardless of success of those applications. Next week we will be addressing the shortfall in two ways – asking 2020/21 season ticket holders whether they will consider gifting all or part of the cost of their season ticket to the Club; and opening a general Crowdfunder appeal so that all supporters can help the Club get over what we hope are the last obstacles to getting through this season and being able to welcome supporters back to Twerton Park in the summer.

Please look out for announcements in the next few days.
