Next Match – Plymouth Parkway (A) – FA Trophy 3rd Qualifying Round
City are back on the road on Saturday when they travel down to Devon to face Plymouth Parkway in the FA Trophy 3rd Qualifying Round at Bolitho Park.
PREVIOUS MEETINGS
The two clubs are facing off in successive months, having previously never met in their history. The league match in Twerton on 11 August ended 1-1 with Mikey Williams’ curler cancelled out by Reuben Reid’s first goal for the Stripes.
TRIVIA
- Reid also netted against Parkway for Weymouth last season and spent four spells at Plymouth Argyle earlier in his career.
- This is only the second time City have played an FA Trophy game in September. The previous was on 30 September 1972 – a 1-0 win at Cinderford Town with Tony Gough netting the only goal of the game.
- It’s the earliest stage City have entered the competition since 2006/07. They played five qualifying round ties including replays before losing at Farnborough in round one, a game which also required a replay. If Saturday’s game is level after 90 minutes it will go straight to penalties.
- The Romans won two FA Trophy penalty shoot-outs last season. Their last outright win in the competition was in December 2023, a 1-0 success over Boreham Wood thanks to Dan Hayfield’s late winner.
- Saturday’s game marks six months in charge for Scott Bartlett.
FORM
- Plymouth Parkway moved to the top of Southern Premier South on Tuesday following a 2-0 win over Frome Town, who they also beat by the same scoreline on Saturday in the FA Cup.
- Bath City have won their last three in all competitions, scoring eight and conceding one.
