Next Match – Evesham United (A) – Southern League Premier South

12 Oct 2026

City will look to bounce back from Saturday’s defeat at home to Gosport Borough when they travel to Evesham United tomorrow evening.

PREVIOUS MEETINGS

The only competitive meetings between the two were in the 2005/06 season. City won the first 2-0 at Twerton Park on 2 January 2006 thanks to a Gethin Jones header and close range Scott Partridge finish. The return meeting in April saw Alex Sykes’ corner needed home by Phil Walsh before Adam Blake levelled for the Robins in first half added time. Sykes restored City’s lead after the interval, one they held on to. Evesham were relegated back to Step 4 at the end of the season while City missed out in the play-off semi-finals to Bedford Town.

The two have met in pre-season since, the most recent meeting a 1-1 draw in July 2022 when Scott Wilson, listed as a trialist, netted for the Romans.

TRIVIA

  • Sykes is now assistant manager at Evesham United. He worked alongside current City number two Richard Joyce last term.
  • His winner was netted at Common Road in one of the final games at Evesham’s previous ground. United moved to the Spiers and Hartwell Jubilee Stadium in 2012.
  • City have played at the venue twice competitively, losing 1-2 and drawing 0-0 against Gloucester City in 2017 and 2019 respectively in National League South.
  • If he figures, Scott Wilson will make his 200th appearance for the club.

FORM

  • Evesham United have lost their last two against high-flying Poole Town and Uxbridge.
  • Bath City’s five match winning run came to an end on Saturday at home to Gosport Borough.
