New York Gate Opens at Twerton Park in Accessibility Milestone

On 14th July, in time for the first home friendly of the season, we were delighted to officially open the new York Gate at Twerton Park, a significant step forward in our commitment to making the Club more welcoming and inclusive for all supporters.

What was once a storage area has been transformed into a dedicated accessible entrance, made possible by fantastic support from our Board and sponsors, and an incredible team of volunteers. Located at the far right of the stadium as you approach, the York Gate features a greatly reduced gradient, a wide and well-lit entrance, and level access directly into the viewing area in front of the Family Stand. Two refreshment kiosks and disabled toilet facilities are conveniently situated nearby.

The gate was officially opened by Michael York, one of our most long-standing and devoted supporters, who followed the Club for many years alongside his late brother Brian. Michael was thrilled to see the dedicated artwork, created by artist Daniel Bird, installed just inside the entrance in memory of Brian, ensuring his legacy greets every supporter who comes through.

The York Gate forms part of our ongoing work to deliver more inclusive and welcoming facilities at The Cannon Clarke Stadium @ Twerton Park, and we look forward to sharing further improvements in the months ahead.
