City v Wealdstone Matchday Information

There’s a big match at Twerton Park on Saturday and it’s one you won’t want to miss! Jerry Gill’s fifth-placed Romans take on the league leaders, Wealdstone on home soil. Kick off – 3pm!

City will go up against a formidable Wealdstone but they themselves go into the game in fine form; especially at Twerton Park. A clinical display against Dartford last Saturday saw the Romans further consolidate their place in the play-offs and extend their unbeaten home record to seven games in all competitions. After failing to beat the Stones on all three occasions last season, City will be looking for revenge when the runaway leaders travel to Somerset.

Wealdstone surged to the top of the table early on in the season after winning eleven of their opening twelve games in the National League South and the London side have barely faltered since. Their latest result, an impressive 3-0 win over Concord Rangers at Grosvenor Vale, saw them go six points clear at the top with a game in hand on second and third.

Here’s what Manager Jerry Gill had to say ahead of this Saturday’s big match:

“It’s great that so many people are making a habit of getting along to Twerton Park on a regular basis these days. To see that crowds are up another 10% so far this season is terrific. I know they’re all big matches, but this really is a big one and the fact they’ll be well supported means I’m really keen to see the Roman Army out in numbers. So please can everyone make that extra effort to come along and to bring their mates. It really is a special place to be under the lights and with a rocking atmosphere – and it transmits straight to the boys on the pitch. See you Saturday.”

We look forward to seeing you all at Twerton Park on Saturday!

‘Get behind the City and enjoy the game!’
