Match Preview – Dagenham & Redbridge (A) – Enterprise National League South

City will hope to end a three-week weather induced wait for Enterprise National League South action on Saturday when they travel to East London to face Dagenham & Redbridge.

PREVIOUS MEETINGS

Saturday will be City’s first visit to Victoria Road since November 2011 in the FA Cup 1st Round. Sean Canham’s opener gave City hope of a shock against the-then League Two side before Brian Woodall’s header earner a replay, where he also netted in an eventual 3-1 success after extra time. The Romans’ last league game at Dagenham was in March 1996 where an early Graham Withey goal proved the difference. City stayed up that season while Dagenham suffered relegation to the Isthmian League.

TRIVIA

  • City’s last two goals at Dagenham have both been scored in the 11th minute.
  • New loan signing Donovan Wilson will be ineligible to feature against his parent club. He scored six in 10 appearances for City in his first spell in 2020/21.
  • This will be City’s third league game of the calendar year. Bar the abandoned Covid season in 2020/21, it’s the latest they’ve played their third league game since 1962 – the year of the Big Freeze.

FORM

  • Dagenham & Redbridge have suffered one league defeat in five but missed out on a third straight win on Tuesday at Horsham thanks to a last gasp penalty from the hosts, which saw Daggers goalkeeper Sam Howes dismissed.
  • Bath City haven’t played a competitive game this month. They’ve won their last two in all competitions.
