Matt Abreu looks ahead to Paulton Rovers home clash
This Sunday we return to Twerton Park as we take on Paulton Rovers — and we’re eager to build on the positives from last weekend’s performance against league leaders Mangotsfield United.
That game was truly one of two halves. We showed exactly what we’re capable of in the first 45 minutes — playing with intensity, control, and quality to go in 2–0 up at the break. Although the second half didn’t go our way, and a chaotic spell saw Mangotsfield turn the game around, there was plenty to take encouragement from. The belief within the group is strong, and we know that when we hit our levels, we can compete with anyone in this division.
This weekend’s challenge comes against a Paulton side who have had a difficult start to the season but remain a well-organised and competitive team. Games between us have always been close, and we know we’ll need to be focused and at our best from the first whistle. The aim now is to turn good performances into consistent results.
The players have trained with real purpose this week — there’s a great spirit in the camp, and everyone’s motivated to put in another strong display in front of our supporters. Your backing makes a huge difference, and we’d love to see as many of you as possible at Twerton Park this Sunday.
Come down, get behind the team, and let’s keep pushing forward together.
See you Sunday.
