Wells City Ladies (0) 1 Bath City Women (2) – Sunday 11 October 2026 – South West Regional WFL Division 1 Central – Athletic Ground
Match Report by Mark Stillman.
Adella Clarke’s first half double saw Bath City Women return to winning ways at Wells City Ladies. The striker opened her account on five minutes at the end of a brilliant move. Abby Gray’s crossfield pass picked out Maddy Brown, whose excellent cross to the near post was met first time by Clarke past helpless keeper Caitlin Baker. It was 2-0 on 25 minutes. Rosie Burridge rounded Baker but was denied on the line, however Wells failed to fully clear and were punished by Clarke who expertly lofted home from inside the box. Abi Locke spurned Wells’ first chance after the break when she was afforded space with just Lucy Clay to beat but shot weakly at the City keeper. Brooke Steventon-Smith blazed off target from Brown’s cross and Lara Allan couldn’t get enough contact on Brown’s corner as City tried to make the game safe. Instead they were left with a nervy finale after Ceyda Fordrey timed her run to perfection to leave her one-on-one, and she sidestepped Clay before tapping home. That was just before the start of added time and ultimately wasn’t enough time for the hosts to create further threat as City saw out the closing stages with ease.
