Sad passing of George Bolt

The club was sad to hear the news that young City fan George Bolt passed away on Tuesday 18th January. George was first diagnosed with Leukaemia in 2019 but fought bravely and hoped to attend the Eastbourne match last month. Jerry got to know George and his family after visiting him in Bristol Children’s Hospital and at the family home over the last couple of seasons. He will be attending the funeral this Friday and offered this tribute:

“I was devastated and saddened to receive the news that George had passed away.

He was a true fighter, always greeted me with that amazing smile, displaying an amazing positive outlook on what was ahead even through the tough times of intense treatments. He was and will always be an inspiration to me.

My thoughts and prayers go to his Mum (Jane) and Dad (Phil). They have had to go through such heartache and pain over the last couple of years but continue to show such strength.

May you sleep easy, no longer in pain my forever little mate, George.”

The club and Jerry sends their condolences to George’s family.
