Next Match – Frome Town (H) – FA Trophy 1st Round
On the back of three successive league wins without a goal conceded City will look to carry that form into the FA Trophy on Saturday when Frome Town visit Cannon Clarke Stadium @ Twerton Park for a 1st Round tie.
PREVIOUS MEETINGS
For the sixth season running, Bath City and Frome Town will meet in a cup competition. While the last five campaigns have included a Francis Hillier Premier Cup tie in each plus one FA Cup contest, this weekend is the first between the two in the FA Trophy since 1969. In City’s third match following the competition’s formation, they built on successes over Abergavenny Thursdays and Bedworth United to win 3-0 at Twerton Park in a Friday night tie. Dave Taylor put the Romans 1-0 up on 38 minutes before Brian Owen netted twice in the latter stages to seal progression to round one.
In more recent times, the two met on 31 August at Frome Town where George Dowling’s first touch off the bench proved the winning goal in front of just over 2,000 at Badgers Hill.
