Former Romans striker Provan passes away

The Club was very sad to hear that former player, Andy Provan sadly passed away on 12 May in Torquay following a battle with Alzheimer’s disease. The signing of forward Andy from Torquay United a few weeks into the 1977/78 season proved a masterstroke by manager Brian Godfrey as his goals helped City win the Southern League that season, scoring 21 goals in his 54 appearances.  A widely travelled and experienced player, Andy also played for St Mirren, Barnsley, York City, Chester City, Wrexham and Southport, plus a spell in the US.

The thoughts of all connected with the Club are with Andy’s family and friends at this sad time.
