Edwards and Spratt on target as City end home campaign with win

Bath City Women’s final home game of the season saw them beat struggling Stockwood Wanderers 2-0 this afternoon thanks to goals from Beth Edwards and Poppy Spratt.

City were largely in control for the majority of the 90 minutes. Jasmine Rennie saw a free-kick well saved but the pressure finally told on 27 minutes when City broke the deadlock. A great run by Rennie saw her pull the ball back to Edwards. She took a touch before picking her spot from 12 yards to make it three goals in four games for the in-form striker. City doubled their lead 13 minutes into the second when Rennie crossed for Spratt to head home from six yards. Further chances came and went for the Romans but, following their cup final disappointment three days earlier, it was a great response to conclude their Cannon Clarke Stadium @ Twerton Park campaign.

The side have three remaining away games, starting the the short trip to face Paulton Rovers on Wednesday 6 May (ko 7,30pm).
