Bath City Women suffer big Whitchurch home defeat

Bath City Women suffered their biggest defeat of the season this evening, going down 5-0 to Whitchurch Ladies at Cannon Clarke Stadium @ Twerton Park.

The visitors opened the scoring after just five minutes, Gillett firing home from 12 yards. Seven minutes later a ball forward saw Plummer get between Bex Fry and Eve Trivett and lift the ball over Lucy Clay. On 37 minutes it was 3-0 when a slip by Trivett allowed Plummer to run clear and roll the ball past Clay. City couldn’t stem the tide into the second half as Whitchuch struck again on 65 minutes when Taylor’s shot from the edge of the box found the corner of the net. And the Bristol side completed the win with three minutes left, Gillett volleying home her second from the corner of the six-yard box.
