Match Report by Mark Stillman.

Darcey Banfield’s speculative free-kick saw Corsham come from behind to defeat Bath City.

The centre-back’s 35-yarder somehow evaded Lucy Clay to nestle in and maintain the visitors’ lead at the top.

In their first game for two weeks, City got off to a bright start, scoring on 13 minutes.

Bex Fry’s crossfield ball saw Lily Lewis hesitate off her line, allowing Tara Taylor to fire across goal.

Lewis got a glove on her delivery but only to Beth Edwards, who gleefully touched home from six yards.

Corsham were level within two minutes. City failed to clear a corner and Charlie Cowper’s pass took a couple of deflections to Ruby Nolan.

Clay did well to thwart her with her feet, but it rebounded perfectly to Lyons who comfortably steered in from close range.

City regained the lead just past the half hour when Sophie Storey’s corner flew straight over Lewis and curved directly in.

The visitors looked reinvigorated after half-time and equalised with a lovely goal.

Nolan’s superb disguised ball was latched onto by Lyons, who perfectly dinked it past the grounded Clay with enough power to cross the line.

The winner was somewhat more fortunate.

Banfield’s free-kick from distance looked easy pickings for Clay but she misjudged it horribly as the ball bounced past her desperate dive.

Cowper had a tap-in disallowed for offside before Corsham were reduced to 10 players after Ruby Hopkins was sinbinned for dissent.

City nearly made the advantage count but Amy Key and Jess Evans couldn’t fully connect on teasing deliveries from both wings, as Corsham hung on to complete a league double over Matt Abreu’s side.
