Away Trip to Welling United

The Romans travel to Kent on Saturday for a Vanarama National League South clash against play-off rivals Welling United! Kick off – 3pm at Park View Road!

It’s third versus fifth this weekend as Jerry Gill’s men head to fellow in-form side Welling United – a team that have lost just once in their last ten league games. City are also in fine form themselves though and extended their unbeaten run to seven games after holding second-placed Woking to a draw at Twerton Park. The result leaves The Romans ensconced in the play-off race with just five games to go.

The Wings took all three points back to Park View Road in September’s reverse fixture at Twerton Park. A healthy crowd of 1585 saw Gavin McCallum and Danny Mills seal the win for Steve King’s side and Jerry Gill knows his team will have to be at their best if they are to take the points for themselves this time around.

The City boss spoke to Bath City Radio’s Mark Stillman ahead of this weekend’s fixture. “I think they’re probably the best side we’ve played all season. Very well organised and quite a physical team. It could be a little bit different at their place. We’re looking forward to it. Five games left now, and I keep reiterating about adding to the total. We’ll stay positive as a group and as staff.”

It’s a massive fixture for The Romans and the boys will need your support this Saturday! Whether you’re travelling by car, coach or train, have a safe trip and we’ll see you on the terraces!
