Away Trip to Concord Rangers

The Romans are back on the road in the Vanarama National League South! City travel to Canvey Island where they take on play-off chasers Concord Rangers. Kick off – 3PM at The Aspect Arena!

The long unbeaten run may well have been ended last weekend but Jerry Gill’s men are still sat firmly in the play-offs and head to Essex this weekend with an impressive record of just one away league defeat since the 1st September.

Concord Rangers, managed by former Leatherhead duo Sammy Moore and Jack Midson, currently sit in 10th position. The Beachboys finished just four points off of the relegation zone last season and the decision to bring in Moore and Midson in the summer seems to have paid off, with the freshened up squad more than making up the numbers this season. The club’s impressive turnaround is highlighted in their home form. A five-nil loss against Welling United on the 27th August is the last time they tasted defeat in the league. It hasn’t been fun, fun, fun for The Beachboys in recent weeks though, as they’ve seen their play-off chase falter thanks to a three point deduction for fielding an ineligible player and have managed just one win in their last seven games.

The Romans will be hoping for a role reversal this weekend as they look to end an unbeaten run and further cement their spot in the play-offs! Wouldn’t it be nice!
