First appointment announced in Bath City’s new era
Bath City have announced the appointment of Debbie King as their new full time General Manager. She has an MBA from Cranfield and over 30 years of Management Consultancy experience, working with FTSE 100 companies and most recently local businesses to help them to be as successful as possible. She will now bring this wealth of experience to support Andrew Stalbow in his mission to unlock Bath City’s potential.
Since becoming involved with the club as a volunteer in 2024, she has already managed a number of significant projects including overseeing the replacement of the floodlights as well as upgrades to the in-ground facilities.
She played a pivotal role in ensuring that the sale of the club went through, managing all the club information that was part of the due diligence process and also handling the shareholder database to ensure that the required threshold of 90% of shares being transferred was met. This is how she met Andrew Stalbow, who led the investment group and is now Executive Chair, and formed a working partnership which will now see her heading up the Stadium Operations, Finance and Administration areas for the club.
Commenting on her appointment, Andrew Stalbow said; “ We are incredibly fortunate to have someone of Debbie’s calibre in this important role. Not only does she bring vast experience of running a business and the financial rigour needed to ensure every penny is spent wisely, she has an amazing ability to just roll up her sleeves and get things done. On top of all that, she is a very calm, measured person who remains unruffled by the toughest of challenges. Having her focussing full time on all the behind-the-scenes administrative functions will, I’m sure, help turbo-charge our ambition to get the club football league ready.”
Debbie, a Bath resident for over 20 years said; “I love living in Bath but like many people, the football club wasn’t really on my radar until I started volunteering here in 2024. I was struck by the fantastic community atmosphere at Twerton Park and could see the potential then, but could also see how the club was hamstrung by a lack of investment. I’m therefore excited to be part of this project to help unlock the club’s potential. I’ll be very much behind the scenes and, if I do my job properly, you won’t see or hear from me too much more. I’d like to think though that our loyal fans will see a difference throughout the club and hopefully many more Bathonians will discover the hidden gem that is Bath City Football Club and will join us on our journey up through the leagues.”
