Match Report by Mark Stillman.

Whitchurch Ladies ran riot at Twerton for the second season running as Bath City Women were blown away in their first home league outing this term.

Having won 5-0 at the same venue five months ago, the Bristol-side impressed again as they consigned City to back-to-back losses.

Aimee Clarke headed against the post and Tara Taylor was perfectly pleased to clear from the line after Hannah Gillett’s header was deflected goalwards by Ilarna Nche.

Faith Constable wastefully blazed over from 15 yards before the pressure finally told on 28 minutes.

Clarke set Gillett away on the right, she cut inside of Lara Allan and struck low to Lucy Clay’s left.

Tia Mahadevan failed to get enough contact on Rosie Burridge’s teasing cross from the right on 40 minutes and within sixty seconds Whitchurch doubled their lead.

Alexei Turner’s pass bypassed midfield and Nche remained onside before rounding Clay and firing into the roof of the net past Abby Gray on the line.

City changed shape at the break but they soon found themselves three down.

Constable’s shot was batted away by Clay and the only player to react was Gillett, who emphatically smashed the loose ball home for her double, following on from her brace at Twerton in April.

Clay denied Clarke and Gillett as City failed to seriously test Sophia Issac at the other end.

A fourth goal arrived in added time. Nche threaded through to Clarke who notched the goal she deserved, poking past the onrushing Clay to wrap up a marvellous afternoon for the visitors and a forgettable one for Matt Abreu’s side.
