Norwegian visitors bring a touch of Scandinavia to Cannon Clarke Stadium @ Twerton Park

HamKam supporters exchange signed shirts with the Bath City Supporters Club ahead of our FA Cup tie with Weymouth

A group of narrowboat enthusiasts from Norway made a special stop at Twerton for our FA Cup match against Weymouth on 5 September.

The group, who were exploring the waterways of the South West, had been in touch with the Supporters Club ahead of their trip, keen to experience a Romans matchday for themselves. Supporters Club Vice Chair Cheryl and matchday draw stalwart Leon Webb met them before kick-off to show them some proper Twerton hospitality.

Our visitors all support Hamarkameratene, better known as HamKam, who play in Norway’s top flight. One of the group is also an official at the club, making it a genuine meeting of two football communities.

To mark the occasion, the two clubs exchanged signed shirts. The HamKam shirt carries the signatures of the club’s players, including internationals who represent Norway, along with the signature of the Norway national team manager. It’s a fantastic memento, and a reminder of just how far the Romans’ reach extends.

“It was a real pleasure to meet our friends from HamKam,” said Cheryl. “They were fantastic company, genuinely interested in the club, and it was lovely to see football bringing people together from so far away. The shirt is a brilliant gift and we hope they’ll come back and see us again soon.”
