Match Report by Mark Stillman

Free-scoring Bath City made it 11 goals in two games with a clinical display against Cirencester Town.

Only goal difference separated them in the table ahead of the game, but a ruthless streak in front of goal made it a comfortable win for Matt Abreu’s team.

After a cagey opening where City lost Rosie Burridge to injury, Adella Clarke broke the deadlock on 25 minutes.

Maddy Brown’s floated ball from the left found the striker in space, and although it wasn’t the cleanest of strikes it had enough to deceive Ellie Law who reacted too slowly to the low effort.

Ciren should have levelled straight from the restart but Lani Dickinson delayed to shoot and Erin Duffy nicked the ball off her.

Brown wasn’t as wasteful. Law’s goal kick was headed forward by Nell Bloomfield to Beth Edwards, who glanced on for the City striker.

She chested down and confidently fired home to make it 2-0.

The visitors pulled one back just after half-time.

Dickinson’s superb threaded pass gave Shannon King a sight of goal, and she delicately lifted over Lucy Clay to halve the deficit.

Their hopes to level were dashed when Jasmine Rennie, Clarke and Brown combined, with the latter playing through to Edwards.

Law came off her line but Edwards poked it past her from 18 yards and watched the ball trickle home.

Substitute Bex Fry provided goal four. The defender helped the ball back from the byline for the onrushing Pheobe Walls, whose first time effort from the edge of the box sailed over Law.

Brown fired over when well placed but she made amends with another assist, teeing up Clarke whose superb turn deceived Lucy Scrannage before she placed out of Law’s reach to wrap up a fine afternoon at Cannon Clarke Stadium @ Twerton Park.
