Bath City Women (3) 4 Stockwood Wanderers (0) 0 – Sunday 15 February 2026 – Somerset FA Junior Cup Quarter-Final – Securitas Stadium
Match Report by Mark Stillman.
Bath City Women eased to the semi-finals of the Somerset Junior Cup with a powerful attacking display against divisional rivals Stockwood Wanderers.
In a tie switched to Larkhall Athletic’s Securitas Stadium, the Romans were largely in control to repeat last year’s comfortable quarter-final success over the same opponents.
Stockwood were rocked by losing Isabella Marsh to injury inside 15 minutes, during a strong start by City which saw Clodagh Moran and Adella Clarke close to netting.
Clarke broke the deadlock on 25 minutes. The forward chased Bex Fry’s ball over the top, shrugged off substitute Libby Russ and beautifully curled over Ava Vowles.
A quickfire Tara Taylor brace before half-time effectively sealed the tie. The captain was twice put through by defence splitting Fry passes, kept her cool and rolled past the exposed Vowles in near identical finishes.
Clarke had a goal chalked off for offside just after half-time after Moran hit the post, with Vowles keeping the score down with a series of fine saves despite playing through the pain barrier.
Taylor was denied a hat-trick when her cross slipped through Vowles’ hands and appeared to cross the line before Toni Blenkinsopp cleared, though no flag was forthcoming.
Maddy Brown wrapped up the scoring on 86 minutes. Poppy Spratt was bravely denied by Vowles but won the ball back before Brown took over and thrashed into the roof of the net with ease from 10 yards.
It means City are two wins from defending their 2025 Junior Cup triumph and extends their winning streak to five in all competitions.
