Match Preview – Dover Athletic (A) – Enterprise National League South

City are back in league action for the first time in 2026 on Saturday when they undertake their longest away trip of the season to face Dover Athletic at the Megger Community Stadium.

PREVIOUS MEETINGS

City have played the present and previous incarnation of Dover 48 times. The record between the two is remarkably close but the Romans head to Crabble looking to overcome the Whites at this level for the first time. Their last win at Dover was in October 2011 in the FA Cup 4th Qualifying Round thanks to Andy Gallinagh’s goal just after half-time. Gallinagh, who only netted three for City, also scored at Crabble in February 2015 in a remarkable FA Trophy tie. The Romans led 3-1 before ex-City front man Jake Reid scored two in the dying stages to take the tie to a replay, which Lee Howells’ men won 2-1 to reach the semi-finals.
