Owen Windsor scored his first goal for Bath City in a hard-fought point against Tonbridge Angels.

The striker cancelled out Bunmi Babajide’s curling finish at a torrential Cannon Clarke Stadium @ Twerton Park.

The depleted Romans recalled Tresor Mabika and Owen Pritchard from dual registration at Larkhall Athletic to make up a five man bench.

Will Jenkins Davies had a goal ruled out in the final seconds for a foul in the build-up as City had to settle for a second draw in two games.

Mitch Beardmore lashed well wide from 20 yards inside two minutes and Brad Ash hooked Joe Raynes’ near post cross over in early signs of intent from the hosts.

Will Jenkins Davies’ dangerous free-kick was flapped away by Jack West-Astuti before City gifted an opener to Tonbridge out of nowhere.

Luke Russe was dispossessed in midfield by Marcus Sablier and slightly impeded by referee Jonathan Bolland in trying to win the ball back.

Sablier passed to Babajide, who took full advantage with a delicious, low curling finish from 18 yards which kissed the inside of Harvey Wiles-Richards’ left post before nestling in.

City regrouped and responded well. Jenkins Davies blazed over after Russe’s layoff, slipping as he lined up to shoot.

An equaliser arrived three minutes before half-time.

Kieran Parselle’s drilled effort was parried by West-Astuti and Windsor reacted sharply to calmly dispatch the rebound past the grounded stopper.

It was his first goal since July for Metro Stars in a 4-0 win over Canberra during a spell in Australia.

For Melbourne-born West-Astuti it was effectively his last involvement as he was withdrawn at the break with Jacob Adams on in his place.

It had little impact on proceedings as while City were ahead in possession stakes, they struggled to get through a well-disciplined back four.

The visitors created the two main openings after the break with Babajide’s volley blocked after Bailey Akehurst’s initial long throw caused panic.

Arthur Penney curled just over from 18 yards when Jordan Higgs recycled possession after Akehurst’s corner.

Both teams tired on a sapping surface with rain continuing to fall, leaving chances at a premium.

The final one arrived in added time when Joe Raynes’ cross was met by Matt Bowman ahead of Brad Williams, but the Swiss midfielder was penalised for a high foot before Jenkins Davies slammed home from 10 yards.

It would have been harsh on the visitors as neither side did enough to earn three points, with a draw keeping them six and seven points respectively clear of the relegation zone.
