Match Preview – Tonbridge Angels (H) – Enterprise National League South
City are back under the Cannon Clarke Stadium @ Twerton Park floodlights tomorrow night when they face Tonbridge Angels in a rearranged Enterprise National League South clash.
PREVIOUS MEETINGS
City have a good recent record against Tuesday night’s visitors, losing just two of their 14 clashes at this level. Last season’s dire 0-0 draw in Kent was followed up by a 2-0 success at Twerton in March thanks to Brad Ash’s deflected strike and Mitch Beardmore’s smart finish just after half-time. Tonbridge ended with 10 men following Ethan Sutcliffe’s dismissal for a dangerous challenge on Luke Russe. Having used all four outfield subs, City were forced to introduce goalkeeper coach Martin Horsell as an outfield player for the closing stages.

Overall record v Tonbridge Angels:
Pld 51 W23 D13 L15 F85 A72
National League South:
Pld 13 W6 D5 L2 F19 A12
Last season:
Away D0-0
Home W2-0 (Ash 33, Beardmore 46)
TRIVIA
- The arranged second meeting between the two in 2019/20 didn’t take place – it was scheduled for the final match of the season but the campaign was decided on a PPG basis following the Covid-19 outbreak.
- Both of Tonbridge’s National League South wins over City were in 2023, the second in October at Longmead when Joe Raynes was forced to play the second half in goal after an injury to Ollie Wright.
FORM
- Bath City have picked up four points from six, suffering one defeat in their last four.
- Tonbridge have lost their last two, both at home, but are unbeaten in six on the road in all competitions.
