Slough Town (1) 2 Bath City (1) 3 – Tuesday 4 November 2025 – Enterprise National League South – Arbour Park
Match Report by Mark Stillman.
Jake Tabor netted his first for Bath City in an action-packed midweek win at Slough Town.
Wictor Makowski’s sweeping finish put the hosts in front before Will Jenkins Davies’ stunning free-kick levelled in first half additional time.
Goals from Tabor and Brad Ash put City 3-1 up before a Harvey Wiles-Richards error led to Jared Myers responding, and a nervy finale which the Romans saw out.
The first main chance of the contest led to Makowski’s opener.
The recalled Mitch Beardmore’s attempted clearance was blocked and allowed Myers to fire across goal, with Makowski cleverly steering in from eight yards.
Luke Russe shot too close to Adam Desbois from distance but Jenkins Davies found a way past the home stopper from further out.
After Ash had been tripped by Ansu Janneh, Jenkins Davies expertly bent the resulting free-kick around the wall from 30 yards and picked out the bottom corner past the infuriated keeper, incensed with Harvey Walker leaving a gap in the wall.
Desbois was left picking the ball out of his net three minutes after the break.
Following City’s third corner in a row, Ash headed back across goal and Tabor nodded in from almost on the line.
The lead was extended on 64 minutes.
Tabor and Russe worked a one-two on the edge of the box and the ball eventually ran loose to Ash, who swiped home from 10 yards.
It was Ash’s sixth goal in seven against Slough and gave the Romans deserved daylight.
Slough were gifted a way back on 70 minutes.
Myers found room near the edge of the box and his low drive skimmed across the slick 3G surface before somehow creeping under Wiles-Richards’ body.
The keeper made amends by making himself big to keep out Johnny Goddard with Kieran Parselle narrowly avoiding putting the rebound into his own net.
Tabor was denied by Desbois as he sensed a fourth against the league’s leakiest defence.
It was Slough who posed more questions in the closing stages as their physical presence put the City backline under pressure, though they stood firm with determination and organisation.
They coped through over 10 minutes of additional time, the first time they’ve not conceded in added time away from home in four games, to move four points clear of the bottom four.
