Match Preview – Dover Athletic (H) – Enterprise National League South

Saturday sees City make their first Cannon Clarke Stadium @ Twerton Park outing of the 2025/26 season, with Dover Athletic making the long journey from Kent to the West Country.

PREVIOUS MEETINGS

City have played the present and previous incarnation of Dover 47 times. The record between the two is remarkably close, both teams have won 16 with 15 draws, City have scored 58 to Dover’s 57. Saturday will be their first meeting in National League South since December 2023.

TRIVIA

  • While City have failed to beat the Whites in this division, they overcame them in an FA Trophy quarter-final replay in February 2015 after a thrilling 3-3 draw at Crabble, plus a 1-0 FA Cup win in Kent in October 2011.
  • Andy Gallinagh scored in both those games, two of his three goals for the club.
  • Should they feature, Joe Raynes will be making his 250th appearance for Bath City, while his cousin Harvey Wiles-Richards could make his 50th outing in National League South.

FORM

  • Dover, who won promotion back to this level via the play-offs last term, began with a 3-2 loss at home to AFC Totton on Saturday. George Nikaj’s two late goals weren’t enough at Crabble for Jake Leberl’s side.
  • Bath City opened with a 1-1 draw at Worthing thanks to Mitch Beardmore’s added time header. Following on from last season it’s just one defeat in seven.
