Match Preview – Larkhall Athletic (A) – Pre-Season Friendly
City move into the second half of their 2025/26 season preparations tomorrow evening with the short trip across Bath to face Larkhall Athletic at Plain Ham (ko 7.45pm). The Romans have been fairly regular visitors to the Southern League Division One South club in recent seasons but will find a much changed ground, with the recently installed FIFA Pro quality 3G playing surface, alongside a new 250-seat stand and enhanced floodlights with LED technology.
PREVIOUS MEETINGS
Bath City have played Larkhall five times in pre-season, winning all five. Their last trip to Plain Ham (Securitas Stadium) was an FA Cup tie in September 2023. In front of a record 1,000 crowd at the stadium, City recovered from 2-0 down to win 3-2 thanks to two Cody Cooke penalties and a Jordan Thomas screamer.
TRIVIA
- The only pre-season meeting which wasn’t played at Plain Ham (Securitas Stadium) was last season, when it was being relaid with a 3G pitch. It was a hastily arranged friendly following original opponents Yate Town being involved in the FA Cup.
- Larkhall manager Ollie Price scored against City in a Somerset Premier Cup 2-0 win at Twerton Park in February 2006.
- Both of Larkhall’s scorers from the cup tie, Jack Camm and Matt Bowman, are still at the club.
FORM
- City have lost their opening three pre-season friendlies, two against higher league opponents.
- Larkhall have won all three pre-season friendlies, all against lower league opponents. Their most recent was Friday’s 3-2 success at Warminster Town where Sam Boulton was sent off for the Larks as the game ended 10-a-side. All three scorers were summer signings – Dylan Tate, Stan Wyatt and Will Osborne.
