City Women end season on high note
Bath City Women ended their 24/25 season on a winning note, with a comfortable 5-0 victory over SGS Olveston United this afternoon. They showed no hangover from their County Cup success three days earlier with Maddie Brown firing them in front on 10 minutes. Twelve minutes later Erin Duffy broke away down the left and her low finish went in off the post to double City’s lead. A minute into the second half debutant Nell Bloomfield’s 20-yard shot made it 3-0. With a minute left Brown grabbed her second and City’s 4th before Abby Gray headed home Tanea Wright’s stoppage-time corner to complete the big win. The victory saw City match the previous season’s fourth place finish to go with the Somerset FA Junior Cup win, marking another great season for Matt Abreu’s side.
The Development side brought the curtain down on football at Twerton Park this season with a 6-1 defeat against Portishead Town Ladies Res. Hari Sabic netted a late consolation for City, taking her total to 22 for the season. They have one final match at Pen Mill in two weeks time.
