3rd key appointment with player Alex Fisher becoming Head of Business Development
Bath City are delighted to announce that player Alex Fisher has been appointed Head of Business Development. He will lead the club’s strategic partnerships across sponsorship, kit, merchandise and technology.
Andrew Stalbow, Executive Chair, Bath City Football Club, said: “When I first met Alex, he made it clear he wanted to help unlock Bath City’s potential. His interest in sports technology, AI and fan engagement, combined with his warmth, intelligence and knowledge of the game, makes him uniquely placed to lead our partnership strategy.
“Alex brings a rare breadth of experience: more than 470 professional appearances and 97 goals across 14 clubs, his work as a Venture Partner at the Players Fund, BBC radio commentary, and the PFA’s Football Business Management course.
“He’ll continue as part of the first-team squad as he steps into the role, giving both existing and new partners the chance to get even closer to the club as we work to realise our ambitions together.”
Fisher’s footballing career has seen him play for many clubs in the South West but he has also had spells in Europe before joining Bath City in 2024.
Speaking on his appointment, he said: “I’m thrilled to have this opportunity and motivated to play an important part in helping the club reach its potential, alongside Andrew, the board and the investor group. I’m excited to work with community and club partners who not only share our vision but can help shape it.”
Alex has recently undertaken two courses with the Professional Footballers Association (PFA) Business School to prepare him for life after playing.
Alejandro Cárdenas, PFA Business School Director, said: “Alex brings a wealth of experience from a playing career spanning England, Scotland, Spain, Belgium and Italy. He has complemented that first-hand knowledge of the game by completing our Sports Directorship Diploma and is now continuing his studies at MSc level.
“Helping players build on their experience and develop careers in football alongside and beyond playing is central to what we do at the PFA Business School. We’re delighted to see Alex take this next step and wish him every success in his new role at Bath City.”
