Message from the Chairman

Hello everyone, It’s tough out there. It has been one hell of a tough month for the club, 5 games postponed, Saturday games pushed to a Tuesday, and while we all love a Tuesday night under our iconic floodlights, we get 40% less supporters through those rickety antique turnstiles than when the Bath City supporters are chanting in the Popular stand on a Saturday. We understand it is not always easy to get out, especially on a “school” night. The Men’s team pulled off a last-minute equaliser on Tuesday night, sending the fans home with a smile on their faces.
We get 40% fewer supporters through the turnstiles on a Tuesday.
Over the rest of the season and especially the next two games we need you here at Twerton Park on so many levels. We need your noise, we need you to come out and give the lads that extra 2% of energy, we need you to bring your friends, bring that colleague who has been telling you how much they love it at Twerton Park, but can’t find the right moment, bring your partner, bring your love of the club. We need you to come to the game early, share stories over a pint in the bar and in the ground at half time, and when the final whistle goes, we need you to come back and do it all over again.
Bring your friends. Bring your partner. Bring your love of the club.
Together we are Bath City Football Club, a family who supports each other whatever. Our players, men and women, the coaching staff, the volunteers who put so many unpaid hours to keep this club up and ready to go again, our incredible loyal sponsors and you, our fans. Yes, I am talking to you, you who pays to come and watch the Men on Saturdays and Tuesdays, the Women on Sunday. You, who have been incredible in supporting us across this and so many seasons before. We are not a club without any of you.
I also want to be transparent with you about how we function financially.
We do not have a person or organisation who can significantly bankroll the club, which means if we miss games, that is cash that comes in later, and less of it. It means we manage our resources to deliver as much as we can into football. Our largest single source of income is matchday revenues. Every extra pair of feet on our terraces averages about £10 in extra income to the club.
Our largest single source of income is matchday revenues.
Our rental income covers the overhead costs of running the club. Thank you, tenants, for covering our non-football costs. Which leaves FOOTBALL….
We need to tell you that means EVERYTHING else that you spend at the club, every donation you make, every shirt you buy, every pound you put into the Squad builder, every pint you drink at the club, goes towards running the football at this club. A huge thanks goes to those handful of generous supporters who have allowed us to invest in deepening the squad so we can put on the best quality football we can bring to The Cannon Clarke Stadium at Twerton Park.
Which brings me back to WE NEED YOU to come to every game, if you cannot come, give a donation, if you cannot afford a donation give some time, if you do not have time, make some noise about the club, wear the badge out where you live.
We need you to break 1500 supporters a game for the rest of the season. Each time that happens we give a 2026/27 Home and Away shirt to a supporter buying through our ticket system, FanBase. Make sure you allow us to know your details – or you won’t be in the draw.
Come and stop me if you want to talk – look out for the “Make Bath City Great Again” Red Cap. UP THE CITY.
Chairman McD.
