Taylor treble leads the way as City hit Brislington for eight

City hit struggling AFC Brislington for eight goals without reply at Cannon Clarke Stadium @ Twerton Park, captain Tara Taylor leading the way with a hat-trick. Her neat 15th minute finish set the Romans on their way then two minutes later thumped a shot into the net after the visitors failed to clear a corner. On 39 minutes Sophie Storey burst forward before rolling home her first goal for the club. Two minutes later Emma Vilday matched her achievement, firing home from 20 yards to make it 4-0 at the interval.

City did not let up in the second half as on 55 minutes the hardworking Erin Duffy crossed for Taylor to complete her hat-trick. Maddie Brown’s low 69th minute shot made it 6-0 before Abby Gray looped a shot into the net on 75 minutes. Storey completed the scoring with her second and City’s eight in stoppage time with a rising shot from the edge of the box.
