Second half comeback see league leaders edge past City
League leaders Mangotsfield United recovered from a two-goal half-time deficit to beat City 3-2 this afternoon at Cannon Clarke Stadium @ Twerton Park. City got off to a perfect start when Abby Gray headed home a 9th minute Tara Taylor corner. Two minutes later it was 2-0 as Adella Clarke was given the time and space to fire home a low shot via the post. City were good value for this lead at half-time but the visitors dominated the second half and pulled a goal back on 71 minutes when a cross-shot flew over Lucy Clay. Moments later a close range finish made it 2-2. City defended well after this and looked set for a hard-fought point but a minute into stoppage time a ball over the top sent Moore away and she slid a shot past Clay to maintain the Mangoes 100% league record.
A remarkable second half saw the Development side run out 6-1 winners against Cheddar at Peasdown St John this afternoon. The game was goalless at the break but once Hari Sabic opened the scoring on 51 minutes the floodgates opened. She went on to notch a hat-trick – making it 10 goals in the last 4 games – with Tish Davis, Lucy Charlesworth and Zoe Whitcombe also on target before Johnson grabbed a stoppage time consolation for the visitors.
