Sabic nets four as 5-star Dev side take centre-stage
Hari Sabic scored four of Bath City Women Development’s five as they ran out comfortable winners over Middlezoy. The visitors had the first opening when Ilana Skelton headed Grace Markall’s corner over from close range, and it proved costly as City weren’t as profligate. Sabic got off the mark on 11 minutes when she anticipated Summer Hemmings’ ball over the top, held off a defender and slammed past Mia Cridge. The Middlezoy keeper was at fault for Sabic’s second soon after as a hurried clearance from a backpass went straight to Sabic, who steered into the top corner despite being off balance. Chelsea Giles’ strike was deflected narrowly wide before Liv Davis made it three with her first goal since March 2024. Maddie Bond’s cross at the near post was only cleared to the City captain, who took a touch before rifling home from close range. A stunning Cridge save from Giles kept it at three and the visitors tightened up after the break. Oliwia Kozlowska’s mazy run and eventual shot bounced awkwardly in front of Cridge who did well to tip around the post but was powerless to prevent Sabic completing a hat-trick on 77 minutes. Teed up by Bond, last year’s Golden Boot winner was afforded time to fire across the helpless visiting keeper to make it 4-0. There was time for her to add a fourth as Giles skipped down the right and her powerful cross was expertly headed home by Sabic, who stole in front of the keeper to complete a fine afternoon individually and collectively for Callum Heal’s side.
