Goalkeeper Max joined City on loan from Cheltenham Town in January 2023. He began his career in the youth system at Hereford then joined Oxford United in 2017, signing his first professional contract two years later. Loan spells with AFC Totten and Oxford City followed before he joined Cheltenham Town in September 2020. During the 21-22 season he spent time on loan at Cinderford Town, Redditch United and Weston-super-Mare. He returned to Weston on loan for the 2022–23 season before getting the chance to play at a higher level with the Romans.
