Jasmine Rennie became the first Bath City Women’s player to score four in a match as the Romans soared into the Somerset Junior Cup Final.

Rennie netted all four after half-time for the cup holders in a relentless attacking display on a heavy pitch at Winterfield Road.

City were dominant from the off and broke the deadlock on 16 minutes.

Poppy Spratt’s low cross from the right appeared harmless but Alice Dwyer inadvertently side-footed into her own goal to give Matt Abreu’s team a deserved lead.

Rosie Kelsey in the Paulton goal saved well from Bex Fry with Rennie firing the rebound narrowly wide.

A second arrived on 44 minutes when Erin Duffy’s corner was flicked by Rosie Burridge onto the head of Adella Clarke, whose well-placed header was out of Kelsey’s reach.

The overworked stopper tipped Rennie’s chip away after the break and stopped Clarke on the follow-up, but an inevitable third put the tie to bed.

Tara Taylor’s perfectly judged diagonal ball saw Rennie outpace the home defence before side-footing home.

She was gifted her second when Duffy’s free-kick bounced off the knees of Kelsey, and Rennie reacted sharpest to easily tap home.

City were awarded a penalty on 79 minutes when Eliza Bjorkhammer’s cross was handled by Dwyer and Rennie took responsibility, placing her kick well into the bottom right corner out of Kelsey’s reach.

Rennie had time to notch her fourth when Bjorkhammer controlled Fry’s ball over the top, and squared for the striker.

The youngster tidily lofted over Kelsey to complete a straightforward success and another final with Weston-super-Mare on Thursday 30 April.
