New sparring partners at Twerton Park

Bath City is delighted to announce that Roman Boxing Gym has moved in to Randall’s Bar, the former home of CrossFit Bath, to start running boxing training sessions six days a week. Whether you want to improve your fitness, learn new skills, or aspire to box competitively, Roman Boxing can help you achieve your goals.

The club was established – appropriately – on Boxing Day 2018, and Founder Darren Sullivan explains how setting up the club was the realisation of a dream for him. “I boxed in Bath for Percy Boys’ boxing club in my youth and it was always an ambition of mine to open my own gym.  To be able to grow the club still further now in our new home at Twerton Park takes the dream to the next level!”

Fully-qualified trainers supervise all sessions, which range from non-contact fitness classes, focussing on fitness and technical skills on punchbags and pads, for those who want to train without competing, to the development of sparring skills and techniques leading to competitive contests for both amateurs and aspiring professional boxers.

Bath City General Manager Carole Banwell said, “Roman Boxing Gym’s arrival represents another important step towards our vision of Twerton Park as a seven-day-a-week destination for a wide variety of commercial and community organisations. We are delighted to have them join us and add to the growing sense of sporting and creative vibrancy around the club.”
