Match Preview – Weston Super Mare (H) – Enterprise National League South
City will look to bounce back from Saturday’s disappointing defeat when they face Somerset rivals Weston Super Mare under the Cannon Clarke Stadium @ Twerton Park floodlight’s tomorrow evening.
PREVIOUS MEETINGS
City had a real stranglehold on Weston for years – at one stage between 1911 and 2010 they won 32 of 34 meetings. The Seagulls have come away the happier from Twerton in recent visits, winning the last two. Undoubtedly the most memorable encounter at Twerton took place nearly 10 years ago in March 2016. Scott Wilson, now on loan at Weston from City, looked to have won it in added time for the Seagulls, but there was still time for Kane Ingram to be sent off for the visitors with Tyler Harvey netting the equaliser from the spot. Almost straight from the restart, Harvey chipped Luke Purnell from the halfway line in a finale which has gone viral. Both clubs avoided relegation from National League South after strong finishes to the season.
