Match Preview – Salisbury (H) – Enterprise National League South

After last week’s FA Trophy penalty drama City are back in league action on Saturday. Salisbury are the visitors to Cannon Clarke Stadium @ Twerton Park, with both sides looking for a win to pull away from the lower reaches of the Enterprise National League South table.

City’s have won their last four meetings with Salisbury – their best run against the Whites. August’s 1-0 success, courtesy of Will Jenkins Davies’ first goal for the club, was City’s first win this campaign. Salisbury’s last positive result against the Romans was a 0-0 draw in April 2013, a month before they gained promotion to Conference Premier via the play-offs under Darrell Clarke.

  • Salisbury are the first team City have faced twice this season. Brian Dutton’s side were also the first City faced twice last term, though one of those meetings was in the FA Cup.
  • Returning assistant manager Lee Kendall picked up his first win in interim charge against the Whites in November 2024, with Jordan Alves netting the only goal of the game.
  • Dan Greenslade made his 150th appearance for the Romans in August’s win at Salisbury, and Jordan Tillson his 50th. Tillson’s first Bath City goal was at Salisbury last season in the FA Cup.

  • Bath City bounced back from their last league defeat at Maidstone United by ousting Dorking Wanderers out of the FA Trophy last week. They’ve drawn their last four home games (including Bracknell, a win on penalties). They last drew five successive home matches in 1935, the final was on Christmas Day against Bristol Rovers Reserves.
  • Salisbury’s early FA Trophy elimination saw them bring forward a league fixture with Farnborough last Saturday, which they lost 1-0. It was their third National League South defeat in four.
