Match Preview – Port Vale (H) – Pre-Season Friendly

City make their first home pre-season appearance of the summer tomorrow when League 1 side Port Vale side visit Cannon Clarke Stadium @ Twerton Park.

PREVIOUS MEETINGS

Last July was the first meeting between Bath City and Port Vale. A 5th minute goal from Scott Wilson separated the sides.

TRIVIA

  • The game was Vale’s first visit to Twerton Park since August 1994, a 3-1 win over Bristol Rovers in the Coca-Cola Cup.
  • Jordan Tillson made his first appearance for City in last year’s friendly. He was forced off through injury in the 21st minute.

FORM

  • City began pre-season with a 1-0 defeat at Taunton Town on Tuesday night.
  • Port Vale played back-to-back June matches against local sides Newcastle Town and Kidsgrove Athletic, drawing 0-0 and winning 7-0 respectively. They followed these games with a behind closed doors meeting with WBA on July 4 that finished 2-0 to the Baggies.
