Match Preview – Enfield Town (A) – Enterprise National League South
North London is the destination for the Romans this Saturday as we travel to meet Enfield Town. The opposition are one place and two points below City in the league, with both teams now inside the bottom four. Massive six-pointer anyone?
PREVIOUS MEETINGS
The last two meetings have followed the same pattern – City have led 1-0 in both before drawing 1-1. The Romans’ first away game at Enfield Town was in January last year where Jordan Alves’ free-kick was cancelled out by Sam Youngs. Owen Windsor’s opener in November also wasn’t enough for City as Billy Leonard responded for the visitors. Leonard also scored the winner in the first meeting between the clubs in September 2024, their first away victory at this level.
TRIVIA
- Mitch Beardmore made his debut at Enfield Town last season as a late substitute.
- Goalkeeper Charlie Binns made his first home league appearance for the Romans in November’s 1-1 draw with Town, a game where City wore their third kit at home.
FORM
- Enfield Town have enjoyed their biggest win in National League South followed by heaviest defeat – a 5-0 success at Farnborough last Saturday followed by a humiliating 8-0 loss at Maidstone on Tuesday night, the joint biggest away defeat in National League South history.
- Bath City bounced back from Saturday’s loss against Hampton with a goalless draw against Weston-super-Mare on Tuesday night.
