Match Preview – Chippenham Town (A) – Enterprise National League South
For a third successive season City head up the A4 on Boxing Day to face local rivals Chippenham Town.
PREVIOUS MEETINGS
City make the 13-mile trip to Wiltshire having not lost at the venue since 27 December 2005, when an Iain Herring penalty and Mark Badman scrambled tap-in saw Chippenham mark the first of two 2-0 wins over City that season. Both sides missed out on promotion to Conference South via the play-offs in 2005/06, Chippenham eventually won promotion in 2017 to make this a regular Step 2 contest. Last year’s Boxing Day meeting, Darren Way’s first game in charge, was the Romans’ third win in their last four visits to the Thornbury Surfacing Stadium.
