Match Preview – Bristol Rovers (H) – Pre-Season Friendly

City are back in pre-season action at Cannon Clarke Stadium @ Twerton Park tomorrow evening when former tenants Bristol Rovers make the short journey to their former home. After the 5-1 defeat against Port Vale in scorching hot conditions on Saturday, City will be hoping for cooler outing as they continue their build-up to the 2025/26 season.

PREVIOUS MEETINGS

Bath City have faced Bristol Rovers 30 times in pre-season, with five of those meetings against reserve sides, the most recent in 2018. Last year saw the Gas run out 1-0 winners thanks to Chris Martin’s late goal.

TRIVIA

  • The only pre-season meeting which wasn’t played at Twerton Park was the 1975 1-1 draw. Six of the games across 1986-1996 were played when Bristol Rovers shared Twerton Park.
  • Re-appointed Rovers manager Darrell Clarke was last in the dugout for this game in July 2017.
  • Past City scorers in these games include Sean Rigg, Pat Keary, Gary Smart and Dave Palmer, all of whom also represented Bristol Rovers.

FORM

  • City have lost their opening two pre-season friendlies 1-0 at Taunton Town and 5-1 on Saturday at home to Port Vale.
  • Bristol Rovers won 2-1 at Chippenham Town on 4 July where former City loanee Micah Anthony netted the winner, before losing 3-2 to Stockport County on Saturday in Murcia during a pre-season trip to Spain.
