Matt Abreu’s Match Preview – City Women vs Gloucester City Reserves
We’re back at the Cannon Clarke Stadium @ Twerton Park this Sunday, and I’d love to see as many of you as possible there to get behind the team. Last weekend’s result at Cirencester was a tough one to take, but there were so many positives in the performance. We kept the ball with real confidence, showed fight after the break, and created chances that on another day could easily have gone in. The next step for us is simple: turn that progress into goals.
Gloucester City Reserves will provide a big test. They’ve just come up after a strong season, and we know from facing their first team last year how competitive they are. But those matches also proved something important – when we’re at our best, we can go toe-to-toe with anyone in this league.
What excites me about this group is how much we’re growing every week. The players are buying into the way we want to play, our passing patterns are sharper, and there’s a real hunger to put things right after last weekend. With your support behind us, I believe we can turn that energy into a performance that makes Twerton proud.
So if you can, come down on Sunday. Your backing really does make a difference to the players on the pitch. We’ve laid strong foundations, and now it’s about taking that next step together – with purpose, intensity, and hopefully, three points.
Kick-off is at 2pm. Tickets can be bought on the door for only £3 but BCFC season ticket holders and concessions get in for free. The bar will be open so come along and get behind Bath City Women.
