Loan Watch: City Academy Players Continue Their Development in Men’s Football

The Bath City Academy pathway continues to provide valuable opportunities for our young players to gain senior experience across the local non‑league scene. Several of our academy talents have recently completed loan moves, each taking important steps in their footballing development. We also extend our thanks to all the loan clubs for their continued support and commitment to helping our players progress.

Louis Sweeten – Shaftesbury Town

Louis Sweeten has joined Shaftesbury Town on a 28‑day loan as they push for the play‑offs. Louis made his debut on Saturday, coming on as a second‑half substitute and helping the side secure an impressive 3–1 victory over Bristol Manor Farm.

Owen Pritchard & Tresor Mabika – Mangotsfield United

Midfielder Owen Pritchard and full‑back Tresor Mabika have both completed loan moves to Mangotsfield United. The pair featured as second‑half substitutes in the Marsh Challenge Cup, contributing to a hard‑fought 2–2 draw. Mangotsfield were edged out on penalties, but both players gained valuable minutes at senior level.

Theo Wynne – Paulton Rovers

First‑year goalkeeper Theo Wynne has signed for Paulton Rovers. Theo made his senior debut in the Les Phillips Cup, starting in their home fixture against Ivybridge. Despite a strong performance, Paulton fell to a narrow 3–2 defeat.

Tom Lewis – Shirehampton

Centre‑back Tom Lewis has joined Shirehampton, where he has already produced a string of impressive performances. Tom played a key role in their recent 3–2 win over Avonmouth, continuing to build his senior football experience with maturity and consistency.

Zion Thompson – Bradford Town

Striker Zion Thompson has moved on loan to Bradford Town. Their scheduled fixture away at Wellington was postponed at the weekend, but Zion is expected to feature heavily once games resume.

These loan moves highlight the strength of the Bath City Academy pathway and the ambition of our players to challenge themselves in men’s football. We are proud of their progress and grateful to all partner clubs for providing supportive development environments.

We look forward to seeing each player continue to grow throughout their loan spells.
