Jasmine Rennie’s double helped Bath City Women complete a league double over Gloucester City Women Reserves.
In the club’s final game of 2025, they started promisingly with Adella Clarke thwarted by goalkeeper Sam Linteo inside two minutes.
Last year’s top scorer broke the deadlock on 16 minutes. Having initially unselfishly squared to Rennie when in on goal, the latter was intercepted by Naomi Baldwin as she lined up to shoot.
It ricocheted kindly back to Clarke who slammed in from close range.
Linteo superbly denied Rennie from close range after Beth Edwards teed her up, before Taylor wastefully blazed off target with just the keeper to beat having cleverly turned inside of Eva Fletcher.
Fortunately City’s profligacy didn’t prove costly as they doubled their lead just after half-time.
Erin Duffy’s persistence saw her get the better of Alisha Kantorowicz on the byline, and she laid off for Rennie who controlled and drilled past Linteo from 10 yards.
Kiera Feighery nearly caught Lucy Clay out with a speculative effort which came back off the post as Gloucester got back into the game, before they were undone by a third.
Seconds after curling inches over, Rennie got her angles right as Edwards capitalised on a poor goal kick to play into Rennie’s path, whose sumptuous first time strike from 25 yards flew into the roof of the net.
Duffy’s thunderous free-kick hit the post and Rennie struck the bar with a thumping strike, denying her a hat-trick.
But three points and three goals were more than enough for Matt Abreu’s side as they rounded off a fine year in style.
