City to support Marcus Stewart and raise MND awareness before Rovers game

This evening’s pre-season friendly against Bristol Rovers (**KO 7PM**) will see the City players wearing special warm-up tops in support of Marcus Stewart and to help raise awareness for motor neurone disease (MND). The former Ipswich Town, Bristol Rovers, Exeter City, Sunderland and Yeovil Town player was diagnosed with the degenerative and incurable condition that affects nerves in the brain and spinal cord in 2022.

Stewart, who stepped down from his coaching position with the Glovers earlier this summer, has been involved in a number of fundraising events for the Darby Rimmer Foundation, which was set up by former Liverpool and Bradford City player Stephen Darby and friend Chris Rimmer to raise money for research into MND and to support those living with it.

You can find out more about the work the foundation does and make a donation here.

**A reminder that the game against Rovers kicks off at 7pm – make sure you get there early to show your support for Marcus Stewart and the Darby Rimmer Foundation.**
