Match Report by Mark Stillman.

Goals from Eve Timbrell, Annie Martin and Codie Holgate helped Cirencester Town to a win over Bath City.

Jasmine Rennie’s first league goal for the club wasn’t enough in Gloucestershire.

Both sides cancelled each other out early on with City’s Nell Bloomfield firing over from 25 yards and Bethan Harris dragging wide for the hosts.

Ciren took the lead on 28 minutes. Timbrell showed good close control in the box under pressure and tidily curled into the right corner.

Phoebe McGouran poked just wide from Martin’s flick before City gifted the home team a second.

The Romans’ passing out from the back went awry as Rosie Burridge’s attempted ball to Clay was intercepted by Martin, who rounded the City keeper and hammered home her sixth goal in two games.

The deficit was halved within a minute. Rennie went on a dazzling run across the penalty area before firmly shooting across Ellie Law, whose outstretched leg couldn’t keep it out.

Rennie struck just wide in the final attack of the half as a change of shape benefitted Matt Abreu’s side.

Debutant Katie Davies was forced off at half-time but the Romans improved with Koz Thorner-Atkinson volleying wide after teeing herself up.

Town were restricted to efforts from distance before they extended their lead against the run of play.

Timbrell’s corner to the back post was out of Clay’s reach and Holgate forced the ball home.

Substitute Emma Vilday had a goal disallowed for offside and Burridge’s free-kick flew over as the visitors fell to defeat despite an improved second half.
