Centurions put to the sword by five-star Romans
City made it eleven goals in two games as they beat Cirencester Town 5-1 this afternoon at Cannon Clarke Stadium @ Twerton Park.
After an even opening to the contest City went ahead on 25 minutes. Maddie Brown’s ball over the top sent Adella Clarke clear and she drilled home from 16 yards. Eleven minutes later Brown made it 2-0, latching onto Beth Edward’s flick to fire a left-foot shot past keeper Law. The visitors pulled a goal back within seven minutes of the restart through King’s neat chip. City stepped up a gear in response to this and on 58 minutes a great move ended up with Edwards making it 3-1. Phoebe Wall’s first-time 18-yard shot from a Bex Fry cross in the 66th minute added a fourth. Clarke grabbed her second and City’s fifth goal with 12 minutes remaining, collecting Brown’s cross before turning and firing a low shot into the corner of the net.
