Bath City FC launches student design competition for new Third Shirt
Bath City Football Club is proud to announce a brand new creative partnership with Bath Spa University, giving students a unique opportunity to design the club’s official Third Shirt for the 2025/26 season.
The club, which boasts over 125 years of history, has invited talented students from BSU’s art, design, textiles and fashion programmes to take on the challenge of creating a shirt that will be worn by the first team and sold to supporters next season.
The brief is simple but exciting:
Design a Third Shirt that is distinct from the club’s home and away kits, and which reflects Bath City’s rich heritage, its deep connection to the city of Bath, and modern football shirt culture.
With shirt collecting now a global phenomenon, the club is seeking a standout design that will appeal to both loyal Bath City supporters and a wider football and fashion audience.
The winning student will receive:
- A free season ticket for the 2025/26 season.
- A £200 prize (voucher of their choice – supplied by BSU)
- A version of their shirt.
- Full credit in club communications and during the official shirt launch.
- A chance to collaborate with the club and kit supplier to refine the production version of the shirt.
- Exposure through the club’s marketing and official channels.
Students will also be asked to provide a short written rationale behind their design and exact colour specifications, with guidance and supporting materials provided by the club.
This is a brilliant opportunity for local creative talent to help shape part of the club’s visual identity for next season. We’re really looking forward to seeing the creativity and ideas from BSU students, and to working closely with the winner to bring their vision to life on and off the pitch – David Mathews – Bath City Marketing Director
The winning design will be revealed ahead of the new season and worn by the team in selected matches throughout the campaign.
