Bath City (0) 0 Dagenham & Redbridge (0) 0 – Saturday 8 November 2025
Enterprise National League South – Cannon Clarke Stadium @ Twerton Park
Match Report by Mark Stillman.
Former £35m striker Andy Carroll squandered the best chance as Bath City and Dagenham & Redbridge drew a blank.
The ex-England international wasted a golden first half opportunity at Cannon Clarke Stadium @ Twerton Park.
City matched the visitors in a game of few clearcut openings.
Will Jenkins Davies spurned the Romans’ best chance in the second half, who deserved their point and clean sheet.
Captain Kieran Parselle sat out through suspension, the first game he’s missed since Darren Way’s appointment last December, which meant a welcome return to Dan Greenslade after two months out.
The left-back’s quick thinking from a throw allowed Jenkins Davies a sniff of goal, but he fired a yard wide of Sam Howes’ near post.
Sam Graham’s header across was well helped over his own bar by Mitch Beardmore and George Gitau struck straight at Harvey Wiles-Richards after an intelligent backheel from Timotheé Dieng afforded him an opening on the edge of the box.
Greenslade’s charge into the area following Jake Tabor’s flick was thwarted by Graham and Jenkins Davies’ free-kick flew harmlessly over for the Romans.
Carroll headed Dermi Lusala’s hanging cross wide under pressure from Ollie Tomlinson before the Daggers captain blew the clearest opening of the contest on 36 minutes.
Jack Batten’s initial interception was tidy, but his pass hit the unsuspecting Tomlinson and left Carroll one-on-one.
He feinted and looked to flick over Wiles-Richards, which he achieved but planted wide of the left post much to City’s relief.
Brad Ash helped Beardmore’s cross over the bar having arrived late at the front post while at the other end Tomlinson’s timely block diverted former City forward Donovan Wilson’s attempt wide.
Shooting up the slope after the break, Way’s charges forced an early corner with Tabor and Jordan Tillson denied by a crowd of bodies before Jenkins Davies eventually slicing wide.
Stand-in skipper Tillson pulled up soon after and was replaced by Bowman, but it didn’t impact the hosts significantly as they continued to pose a threat.
Russe hammered over after Graham’s sliding clearance picked out the well-placed midfielder just outside the penalty area before City’s best move of the game didn’t have the desired conclusion.
Greenslade and Beardmore’s first time passes found Jenkins Davies, but with the ball slightly behind him he ballooned miles over from 15 yards.
Substitute Matt Bowman was denied by Howes after Joe Raynes’ acrobatics kept Jenkins Davies’ corner alive. The midfielder’s header was gloved away despite Tabor being in close quarters.
Harry Sidwell’s low drive from Carroll’s lay-off was deflected off target by the outstretched Tomlinson as both sides sought a late winner.
Batten helped Jordan Alves’ corner wide in the last clear chance as both sides had to settle for a point – Dagenham’s fourth goalless game away from home in nine and City’s first draw at home since March.
